The competition is open to teams from all achools and is split in into categories detailed in th appendix 1

1.0 Venue, Dates and accommodation

1.1 Dates

The competition will be held on Sunday 4th July 2010. All competitors must be pre-registered and paid by Sunday the 20th of june, 2010.

There is ample parking at the sports centre which can be accessed from the entrance of Kenton Lane

2.0 Rules and requirements

2.1 General Rules

The competition will be run in accordance with the AETF / TAE competition rules, except where specified otherwise in this invitation.

2.2 Competitor Requirements

Instructors must coach their competitors to the required standard of each event and assume responsibility for the choice of event for each individual. This competition is open to TAE members and others by personal invitation only.

All competitors must wear an ITF Dobok.

2.3 Injury Liability and Insurance

All competitors must be in possession of a valid TKD licence / insurance coverage as the host is not responsible for any eventuality and / or injury.

INSTRUCTORS NOTE:

All student licences will be checked when forming up in line for the opening ceremony.

3.0 Events and Categories

The organising committee reserve the right to amalgamate/change events/times on the day of the competition based on the number of entries and level of competitors. We will do our best to accommodate all competitors to ensure a fair and rewarding experience for all.

We will endeavour to separate competitors from the same school competing against each other in the initial rounds.

Safety Equipment for Sparring

All under 13 competitors must wear a full set of safety equipment, head-guard, hand pads, foot pads, groin-guard and body armour. All other competitors to wear a full set of safety equipment with head guards and body armour being optional. Any damaged or dangerous sparring equipment will not be allowed. Competitors may optionally wear shin protectors and a mouth guard. Females may wear a breast protector and or a female groin guard (on the inside of the uniform).The tournament organisers will not provide sparring equipment. Please ensure your competitors arrive ringside prepared.

4.0 Officials and Coaches

All clubs or schools entering the competition must provide a minimum of one official per 15 students; two officials for 16 to 30 students inclusive; three officials for over 30 students.

All officials names must be entered on the school entry form by the deadline. Please send as many officials as possible to ensure the smooth running of the competition.

If a school enters competitors but sends no officials to help out, the instructor of that school will pay an extra £3 per student they send.

4.1 Officials Attire

Officials must wear a navy blue suit with a white long sleeved shirt, white TKD shoes (not trainers) and either navy blue or ITF Tie.

4.2 Officials Check in.

Officials are to check in at the competitor check in desk and attend the briefing as per the programme of events.

4.3 Coach

A coach is not a requirement and therefore they must pay the entry fee. All coaches must wear training shoes (no heels) and a track suit (dobok tops should be covered) and be an active student of TaeKwon-Do.

5.0 Fees

5.1 Competitor Fees

Entry fees are: £75 for 5 person team and £45 for three person team.

5.2 Instructor Administration Fee

Instructor to retain £1 per competitor for administration (bank charges etc) and deduct this from the balance prior to payment into the TAE account.

No refunds will be given after the closing date for any reason even if a competitor withdraws or is disqualified.

5.3 Spectator Fees

The cost for spectators is £5.00 for the whole day.

Under 5 yrs. go free.

6.0 Instructions, Documentation and Deadline

6.1 team Entry Form

Team entry  forms are to be completed by the instructor and forwarded to tournament director by 20th June

6.3 Competitor and Spectator Registration

Competitors are to report to the check in desk upon arrival at the competition where they will receive their wrist stamp. Spectators will report to a separate check in desk and receive a wrist band.

6.4 Registration

6.5 Payment and Notification

Please pay all fees directly into the TAE account.

After payment has been made, send an email (see 6.4) to the tournament organiser, confirming the payment made (the amount and number of students entered) and when.

All competitors must be pre-registered and all forms and payment must be received no later than Sunday 20th June 2010.

6.6 Entry Alterations

Please note that alterations made after the closing date will incur a charge of £5.00 per competitor. No refunds will be given if a competitor withdraws.

7.0 Medals and trophies

There will be one gold medal winner in special technique and power test.

gold silver and bronze medals will be given in patterns and sparring

8.0 Schedule

Depending on numbers, the competition will run based on this approximate schedule. Please note times are subject to change:

9:00-10:00am          Registration

10:00am                     Officials Briefing (competitors begin lining up)

10:15am                      Opening Ceremony

10:30am                     Competition Starts

12.30pm                     Officials Lunch Begins in 30 Minute Rotations

5.00pm                       Competition Finish (Approximately)
